I have owned this vehicle since 2013, having spent the last 30 years as a specialist 4×4 technician, having run my business in the Mansfield area. I have until five years ago had a select few 4×4 vehicles for sale. Now I only service and maintain 4×4 vehicles, as I rapidly approach retirement, I am having to part with a couple of vehicles, as I have little use for them, as the family has too many vehicles and not enough time to use them all.
This is a great example of a future classic 4×4. During my time in this industry, I have owned and sold a lot of these Turbo models, as from a secondhand point of view they represented better value, and much more reliability than Landrover.
Anyway, back to the vehicle: 2003 Porsche Cayenne Turbo, with only 88400 miles, stored on and off over the years, but always had everything it’s needed. Last year when I decided we were going to sell, I spent a fair amount of time stripping and refurbishing the brakes, including new discs and pads, new sensors, 4 new tyres, fully serviced the engine including both air filters, (they never get changed😂) I also changed the water reservoir, the rear amplifier, which, if you know these vehicles will understand why(water ingress). Although the vehicle hasn’t covered more than a couple of hundred miles since it was motd last year, I will re- mot the vehicle for the buyer. Recently had a new battery, again, not an enviable job, due to its location. (Yuasa 4 year guarantee).
This model is silver with soft black heated leather seats, electric movement, electric sunroof, mirrors etc. This has the most unusual extra, if you own a caravan, having the bonus of an electric fold out Towbar with fold away electric socket. Alloys have new tyres, glass is tinted. Engine is perfect, and the drive is smooth, whether you drive it like Miss Daisy, or prefer to vaporise a few at the lights. These have adjustable drive modes, and ride height adjustments, including a full and part time 4×4 system, at the push of a button.
All in all, still a wonderful 4×4, whether it’s a weekend user, towing the caravan, or a must get to work in winter, this still has a lot to offer.
